What About Us? If Only Greyhounds Could Talk. . .
Queen City Greyhound Connection is a 501 (3) (C) not-for-profit corporation based in Cincinnati, OH. As a not-for-profit, all donations go directly to the support of the dogs and our efforts to rescue greyhounds from racing tracks and find good adoptive homes for as many dogs as we can.
The organization is made up entirely of volunteers. Our belief is that all greyhounds need to spend time in a foster home with an experienced greyhound owner before being adopted. The transition from the track to a home is significant for these dogs and learning about houses, furniture, glass, mirrors, steps and animals other than greyhounds takes a little time. As we get to know the dogs, we also can do a better job placing the greyhound in the right home. We can also test to see if the dog is cat safe, small dog safe and child safe. Remember that these dogs were trained at the track to chase small furry lures. Running cats and small dogs can look like the lure they were trained to chase. At the track, greyhounds have never seen children.
We can always use volunteers, so if you are interested in helping these magnificent animals, please let us know.
